Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start shopping for a dress?

We recommend starting your search 8-12 months before your wedding. It can take up to 4-6 months to get a dress in, plus you need 2 months for alterations. On the flip side, shopping too early for a gown may confuse brides who end up trying too many dresses on.
How much does a made to order gown cost at your shop?
How much does a made to order gown cost at your shop? Our made to order dresses start at $1800 and go up from there, maxing at about $6500. We have an average price of around $3000. If you're a bride on a budget, we do offer samples, which range from around $1200-$2300.
Do you serve champagne or hors d'oeuvres?
No, unfortunately we don't have a license to serve alcohol, but we do have water. You are free to bring in your own beverages - we have a no food policy and no hard liquor policy, and please keep them away from the gowns as much as possible.

What happens after I find the one?
After you celebrate finding your dress, we try to make it as straightforward as possible. First we will take your measurements so we can get accurate sizing. Second, we deal with the payment. Next, we email you a follow up with links to our recommended tailors, and we will order the dress through our designers. Then 4-6 months later, your dress is here to pick up!

What happens if I gain or lose weight?
Weight fluctuation is a part of life! That's why your dress gets altered right before your wedding. Designers usually give you some wiggle room in your dress that can accommodate any potential weight gain, and dresses can always be taken in before the wedding. We will always order the dress based on your measurements the day of ordering, we will rarely order a size up or down.
How can I prepare for my bridal appointment?
Here, all we require is for you to wear underwear during your appointment (please!). We do not recommend wearing spanx! And heels are unnecessary as we have a platform and you will be on your feet the whole time. Make sure you get enough rest the night before and you are not hungry. We also highly recommend coming equipped with some inspo pictures, a smile, and some water to stay hydrated!
What size am I - and what sizes do you have?
Ok, this is a complicated one. Bridal sizing is, well, weird. The number size varies from designer to designer. The general rule is to take your regular dress size (the one on your everyday clothing) and add 2 number sizes to that. So, If i am usually a size 6, I would be a size 10 in bridal. But honestly - you do not need to know this. We will take your measurements and find the size for you - the number does not matter as long as it fits :) We usually carry a size 12 sample - this is fairly standard in the industry. However, we can order up to a size 28 and down to a size . Just be prepared to be clipped in!!
What are samples - what are the benefits and drawbacks with taking a sample gown?
Sample gowns are off the rack dresses that we offer for a discounted price. They are the gowns that we have for our brides to try on before ordering a dress. They are typically around a bridal size 6-12 and are offered As-Is. Benefits would include a discounted price ( up to 30% off) and no wait time needed to have the gown made. However, samples have been tried on by other brides, so they may have some light damage, need to be dry cleaned, or be the wrong size (as we only have one of each dress in store).
Is alterations included? How much does alterations cost?
Alterations are never included in the cost of a wedding gown, so always factor it into your total budget for your dress. We do not do in house alterations, but we have incredible recommendations. However, the tailors we have worked with in the past typically range from $600-$1200 for standard alterations. There is a lot of handiwork and skill needed to tailor a wedding gown, so you want to pay for someone who knows what they are doing!!

When should I start my alterations?
We recommend starting your alterations about 1-2 months before your wedding. It is a series of about 1-3 appointments. Just make sure to book your appointment ahead of time as tailors fill up fast
How many guests can I bring?
We allow up to 5 guests (not including bride). However, we usually recommend bringing around 3 people - too many opinions can be overwhelming for you. Remember - less is always more.
